Compare a personal application with a company application before choosing a finance route

A company application is not automatically more suitable or tax-efficient. The applicant, genuine business purpose, intended use, lender criteria and agreement terms all matter. We can discuss finance options; a qualified accountant should advise separately on tax, VAT and accounting.

What we do with your enquiry

  • Shape the proposal

We describe the asset, seller and ownership goal so a lender sees a clear, well-evidenced case.

  • Compare from our panel

Selected lenders from an extensive panel of 150+, set side by side on deposit, term, any balloon and total cost.

  • Stay with you to completion

Your broker relays lender questions and our documentation team helps coordinate paperwork if you proceed.

Sorbus is a credit broker, not a lender. Approval, rates and savings are not guaranteed, and a manufacturer or retailer proposal may still suit you best.

Why Sorbus Finance

Specialist access,
explained by a person

Separate finance from tax advice

We can explain finance structures and the lender process. Accounting, VAT and benefit-in-kind treatment are separate questions that depend on the facts and current rules; discuss them with a qualified accountant.

Compare cash-flow impact

A company application is assessed under lender criteria and may involve the company, its directors and guarantors. Compare the full payment obligations and cash-flow impact with a personal application.

Specialist vehicle application review

The exact vehicle, seller, proposed applicant and intended use can affect lender appetite. For example, each Ferrari model is assessed on its own details; the same case-by-case approach applies to other marques. We discuss possible routes available through our panel, subject to lender criteria.

Compare the applicant and agreement

Personal applicant: the lender assesses the individual, who takes on the obligations set out in the agreement. Company applicant: the lender assesses the business and may also assess directors or require a guarantee; the company’s obligations depend on the contract. In either case, explain the genuine business rationale and intended use accurately. Finance approval does not decide whether costs are deductible, whether VAT can be recovered, how the car is accounted for or whether benefit-in-kind rules apply. Get independent advice from a qualified accountant on those points.

How it works

01

Explain the proposed purchase

Share the vehicle details, seller, intended applicant, genuine business rationale and how the car is expected to be used.

02

Review finance options

We can discuss a suitable route and introduce an application where appropriate. The lender assesses the applicant and vehicle and sets any offer and conditions.

03

Review all terms before signing

Check the agreement, payment obligations, ownership and end-of-term options. Ask your accountant separately about tax, VAT and accounting before committing.

Start the conversation about your purchase

Tell us what you're looking to finance and we aim to respond within one business day, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm. Sending this starts a conversation, not an application, and commits you to nothing.
