Crane finance for lifting, plant hire, and construction

Cranes are high-value working assets where the right funding term needs to reflect utilisation, contracts, and residual value. Sorbus Finance compares finance for mobile, crawler, tower, and specialist lifting equipment. We help present the asset, contracts, utilisation, and business case to suitable specialist lenders.

Why businesses use asset finance

Protect project cashflow

Fund a crane while preserving cash for transport, operators, maintenance, insurance, and contract mobilisation.

Consider larger values

We can discuss applications above standard equipment limits and help present the asset and business case clearly.

Finance built around use

Compare ownership and lease structures against the expected working life and replacement plan for the crane.

Finance structures

Choose the structure that fits your plans

The right option depends on whether ownership, monthly cost, flexibility, or regular replacement matters most to your business. We will explain the trade-offs before you apply.

Hire purchase

Ownership-focused finance

With hire purchase, the finance company buys the asset and you make fixed monthly payments over an agreed term. Once all payments are made, ownership passes to you, usually after a nominal option-to-purchase fee.

Finance lease

Use the asset without owning it

With a finance lease, the lender retains ownership while your business pays to use the asset over the agreed term. At the end, you can usually extend the lease or sell the asset on the lender’s behalf and retain a share of the proceeds.

Operating lease

Useful for regular upgrades

An operating lease is generally shorter than the asset’s useful life. You return or replace the asset at the end of the term, which can suit equipment that needs regular upgrades. Your accountant can advise on the accounting treatment for your business.
