Land Rover & Range Rover
finance in the UK

Explore hire purchase, balloon HP and finance lease for new and pre-owned Land Rover and Range Rover, subject to lender assessment

Whether you are considering a Defender, Discovery or Range Rover, start with the exact vehicle and how you intend to use it. We help compare suitable independent finance proposals alongside a retailer offer, with attention to the full cost, ownership terms, insurance requirements and any final-payment risk.

What we do with your enquiry

  • Shape the proposal

We describe the asset, seller and ownership goal so a lender sees a clear, well-evidenced case.

  • Compare from our panel

Selected lenders from an extensive panel of 150+, set side by side on deposit, term, any balloon and total cost.

  • Stay with you to completion

Your broker relays lender questions and our documentation team helps coordinate paperwork if you proceed.

Sorbus is a credit broker, not a lender. Approval, rates and savings are not guaranteed, and a manufacturer or retailer proposal may still suit you best.

Why Sorbus Finance

Specialist access,
explained by a person

Assessment of the exact vehicle

Model, generation, powertrain, specification, mileage, condition and seller all matter. Passenger and commercial versions need to be identified accurately, along with any modifications or specialist use.

Insurance and running costs first

Check insurance availability and security conditions for the actual vehicle before committing. Include servicing, tyres, fuel or charging and repair contingencies when assessing affordability; finance approval is not a condition report.

Compare retailer and independent options

We can compare a written retailer proposal with suitable options from our selected lender panel. Look at eligibility, deposit, total payable, any final balance and contractual rights; independent finance is not automatically cheaper.

Hire purchase vs balloon HP for Land Rover

Hire purchase repays the financed balance through the agreement, with ownership passing only when all payments, fees and any option-to-purchase requirements are met. Balloon HP leaves an agreed balance due at the end. That balance is not a guaranteed future value or a PCP-style return right. Sale or refinancing may help settle it, but neither is guaranteed. Compare total cost as well as monthly payments. Finance lease has different ownership terms and does not automatically transfer title.

Land Rover / Range Rover model directory

Finance starts with the exact car

Start with the exact model, generation, body style, powertrain and intended use. These recognisable model families are a buying guide, not a popularity ranking, stock list or promise of lender acceptance. Autobiography and SV describe particular specifications or derivatives, not a guarantee of future value.

01

Range Rover

Identify the generation, wheelbase, seating and exact specification, including Autobiography or SV where applicable.

A flagship badge does not guarantee a future value. Check insurance and the plan for any final payment before committing.

Read the Range Rover guide
02

Range Rover Sport

Range Rover Sport is a distinct model family. Confirm the generation, powertrain and derivative, including any SV version.

Document modifications and the actual equipment. Compare the same Sport and purchase price across finance proposals.

Read the Range Rover Sport guide
03

Range Rover Velar

Identify the model year, engine or hybrid system, trim and options rather than relying on the Velar name alone.

For a plug-in hybrid, consider charging access, battery evidence and the written warranty terms alongside finance payments.

Read the Range Rover Velar guide
04

Range Rover Evoque

Used Evoques span different generations and body styles. Identify the exact car and equipment before comparing quotes.

Budget for maintenance as well as repayments. A lower purchase price does not confirm condition or lender eligibility.

Read the Range Rover Evoque guide
05

Defender 90

Separate older Defenders from newer-generation 90s, and confirm the actual seating, body and intended use.

Disclose conversions and off-road modifications. A restoration invoice is not an independent valuation or condition report.

Read the Defender 90 guide
06

Defender 110

Identify the generation, seating and whether the 110 is a passenger vehicle or a commercial derivative.

Hard Top branding alone does not establish VAT recovery or tax treatment. Declare towing and business use.

Read the Defender 110 guide
07

Defender 130

Confirm the exact 130 derivative, seating layout and practical fit rather than assuming every example has the same configuration.

Check parking, access, insurance and intended use before paying a deposit. Do not treat extra size as guaranteed resale value.

Read the Defender 130 guide
08

Land Rover Discovery

Discovery is distinct from Discovery Sport. Identify the generation, seating, powertrain and intended family or working use.

Check the exact towing specification and previous use. Finance approval is not a mechanical inspection.

Read the Land Rover Discovery guide
09

Land Rover Discovery Sport

Discovery Sport is its own model family. Verify the seating layout, engine or hybrid system and actual equipment.

Do not assume the configuration from an advert or badge. Balance purchase payments with maintenance and charging or fuel costs.

Read the Land Rover Discovery Sport guide

Check Land Rover / Range Rover's official model information for the current range. Confirm the particular vehicle's availability with its seller; a model listing does not establish finance eligibility.

New order or pre-owned: what changes in the file

New Land Rover / Range Rover purchases

  • Describe the exact car and proposed order: confirmed build or specification, order form, invoice and expected delivery. Changes to specification or price may need the proposal re-approved.
  • Confirm when the lender would release funds and what invoice and handover evidence it needs. An order or allocation deposit paid to the Land Rover or Range Rover retailer is not automatically refundable or included in the funding — check its terms in writing.
  • Ask the retailer what happens on cancellation or a delayed delivery, and whether any finance approval has an expiry date that might pass before the car arrives.
  • Current-model availability, factory order windows and any genuinely unused stock are confirmed only by the retailer or Land Rover or Range Rover itself, not by a finance broker.
  • Obtain an insurance quote for the exact vehicle and address before committing. Check any tracker, security, excess and storage conditions rather than assuming every model is insurable on the same terms.

Pre-owned Land Rover / Range Rover purchases

  • VIN and registration matched across the logbook, invoice and car; age and mileage checked against the service record.
  • An independent condition inspection by a specialist you choose, plus documented servicing, repair and any import history.
  • Title and outstanding finance checked, and a settlement route agreed if the seller still owes money on the car.
  • Provenance and specification confirmed — options listed on an advert are not evidence until they are documented.
  • For hybrid and electric models, battery health evidence from an appropriate test or the retailer, and the written terms of any remaining warranty.
  • Ask for evidence of outstanding recall work and check for off-road, towing, accident or modification history. A finance approval is not a mechanical inspection or confirmation of warranty cover.
  • Obtain insurance terms before paying a non-refundable deposit, including any required tracker subscription or security installation.

Why compare independent Land Rover finance?

An independent broker can help compare a retailer proposal with suitable alternatives from a selected lender panel, and explain how the agreement fits your ownership plans. The benefit is a clearer comparison and help with the application, not a promise of a lower rate or approval.

  1. 01An independent comparison can consider lenders and agreement structures within our selected panel, not the whole market. Ask which lenders are being considered and how the broker is paid.
  2. 02A broker can help establish whether a lender will consider the seller and transaction type — franchised retailer, independent specialist or private sale. Confirm eligibility before making a purchase commitment.
  3. 03Your choice of car stays separate from the credit decision, so you can review the vehicle on its merits and the finance on its terms.
  4. 04We help you read written proposals line by line against your ownership goal: keep the car, change it later, or keep cash available.

A manufacturer or retailer proposal may suit you, particularly where it carries a stated contribution or condition. Compare the same car, price, deposit and term: APR where applicable (and how it differs from a nominal rate), total payable, fees, any commission disclosure, optional or final balance, ownership, settlement and any return rights. Sorbus Finance acts as a credit broker, not as the manufacturer or the lender.

Balanced considerations

  • Hire purchase: title passes only once every payment, fee and any option-to-purchase requirement has been met.
  • Balloon HP or lease purchase: the final balance is a debt you owe, not a guaranteed future value, and not a PCP-style return option.
  • Future refinance of a balloon is a new application and is not guaranteed. Plan for a shortfall if the car is worth less than the balance.
  • The car can be repossessed if payments are missed. Weigh affordability and the opportunity cost of finance against a cash purchase.
  • Finance lease does not mean automatic ownership. Personal or company ownership, VAT and tax treatment need your accountant’s advice.
  • Budget for insurance, security equipment, servicing, tyres, fuel or charging and repair contingencies as well as the deposit and finance payments.
  • Passenger and commercial derivatives can have different tax treatment. Do not infer VAT recovery, capital allowances or benefit-in-kind treatment from the model name; ask your accountant about the exact vehicle and use.
  • Tell the lender and insurer about modifications, off-road or commercial use, towing and any private-hire activity before proceeding.

How it works

01

Tell us about the vehicle and use

Share the model, year, mileage, specification, price, seller and intended personal or business use, including any modifications. For a new order, include delivery and deposit terms.

02

Compare written proposals

Review suitable panel options against any retailer offer on consistent assumptions. Consider deposit, APR where applicable, fees, payments, total payable and the plan for any final balance.

03

Complete the agreed checks

If you proceed, the lender confirms its assessment, required documents and payment arrangements. Confirm insurance and any security conditions before completion. Timing depends on the checks needed.
