Dealer referrals
For van dealers: refer a business customer
When a business customer needs finance that your usual route cannot place, refer them here. We talk to the customer, explain the options and keep you informed.
- Business customers only
- Customer permission required
- No rate promises
Dealers see deals stall when a customer is a newer business, a sole trader with an unusual income pattern, or simply wants to understand the options before committing. We are a broker working with a panel of lenders, and our job is to explain structures clearly and present the case to lenders likely to accept it.
Referral is simple. Send the dealership and customer details below, with the customer's permission. We contact the customer directly. Nothing is sent to a lender without the customer's agreement.
Which customers to refer
Refer business customers who need help that your existing finance route does not cover well.
- Limited companies, sole traders and partnerships buying vans for business
- Newer businesses with limited trading history
- Customers who want ownership, VAT and cash flow explained first
- Customers buying several vans
What happens after you refer
We contact the customer, understand the business and the van, and explain hire purchase, finance lease and lease purchase in plain terms. If they choose to proceed, we approach suitable lenders. Once approved, the lender pays the supplier in line with its usual process.
What we need from you
Only enough to start the conversation.
- Your dealership and contact details
- A short description of the van
- The customer's name, email and phone, shared with their permission
Before you send a referral
Please make sure of these.
- The customer has agreed to their details being shared and to being contacted by us.
- The van is for business use.
- You have not promised the customer a rate or approval on our behalf.

The starting point
This page is general information, not tax, accounting or legal advice. Tax and VAT treatment depends on your circumstances and can change. Speak to your accountant before choosing a structure. Finance is subject to status and lender approval.
Who you are dealing with
A broker, regulated, and clear about it
Sorbus Finance Limited is an appointed representative of Moorgate Finance Limited, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (firm reference number 662419). We are a credit broker, not a lender.
We work with a panel of lenders that includes high street banks, specialist asset finance lenders and manufacturer linked finance houses. Each has its own criteria, so part of our work is matching your business to the lenders likely to say yes, rather than applying everywhere.
Not all commercial finance activities or agreements are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Regulatory protections depend on the activity, agreement and customer circumstances.
